mu Space’s founder and CEO, James Varayuth Yenbamroong joined a panel of keynote speakers to discuss and deliver a speech addressing on space technology for security along with displaying mu Space’s technology at the exhibition organized by Defense Information and Space Technology Department (DIST) at Office of the Permanent Secretary of Defense (OPSD) on 19 March 2021, Bangkok.
The academic seminar was held in order to raise awareness towards the importance of the development of space affairs for security as well as to enhance knowledge on new technology and the role of the Ministry of Defense for military force.
James, a space tech entrepreneur and professional, and other keynote speakers exchanged ideas on several topics including the role of low earth orbit satellite technology, a tendency of having low earth orbit satellites replacing geostationary satellites, the possibility for Thailand to be a hub of rocket launch in the region as well as its benefits, advantages and drawbacks in terms of geography.
All of the speakers also shared their experiences working with international space agencies, their views on Thai space agencies, along with the Ministry of Defense involvement in Thai space affairs and agencies.
